March (two new ladies)

Hi Everyone, This month has been pretty busy. We started it out by moving into a new flat for the RGP housing. The new place is amazing! It has been such a blessing even in the short amount of time we have had it. But, over the last few weeks the man in charge of the building it is in and in charge of the registration paperwork has been very unhelpful and we have had to get different attorneys involved. God has already been working out the details in this matter but we could still use prayer for God to be our advocate and for Him to give us favor with this man and those involved. Along with moving in to this new apartment we have had a new lady and her two children join us along with last week another new lady. So two new ladies and two children!! The staff and participants in our program are still in the throws of this quick major adjustment. February (More Transitions)

Hi Everyone, This month has had many transitions. It is still winter, even though it has been warmer than many other years it is still cold here. As I am writing this update it is around 3 degrees F. The last few days we have had snow falling resulting in a beautiful and white snowglobe outside. During this month our Country Team Lead and his wife have finally made it back to Bulgaria after being in the US for the past 5 and 1/2 months. Also, one of our long term interns has left to move back to the US. One of our team leads went back to the US for his Home Mission Assignment (spending time raising support and visiting those who are already supporting him.) A friend who has been here for a few years working with A21 left to move back to the US for a few months at least. People here in our team moved houses and the ladies in our RGP housing moved to a new house. So, wow! Lots of transitions! January (A New Year)

Hi Friends and Family, From Bulgaria, Happy New Year!! It’s hard to believe it is 2018 and also that the first month is already complete!! I hope all of your Holidays were blessed! And I am so sorry for this post being so late!! Here in Bulgaria we have gotten back into the swing of the typical week of programs and classes while yet many people have been in and out sick. This time of year is always a challenge when it comes to health and we have been experiencing problems with that here. Most of our ministry team has been hit with some type of sickness over the past month along with the women in our program. I am so thankful I have been one of the few who haven’t been sick! But, thankfully most are now better. Over the past month of cooking classes I have asked the ladies in our program to each choose a dish they would like to teach me how to cook. December (Christmas and New Years)

Hi All! It is now 2018! Happy New Year from Bulgaria!! This last month of 2017 has been busy and fun. We started it out in the same manner each month has gone; but on the 9th of December a group from the USA came over to team up with us and do a week medical outreach in some smaller cities in Bulgaria. We travelled to three different places, met many elderly patients who needed better information on what health issues they have and better teaching on how to deal with these issues appropriately. The people we met were so kind and really appreciated the time and help we could give. Had many times I was able to pray with a patient and just spent time talking with them. I really enjoyed hearing their stories and seeing how we could help. One of the days we were able to have a clinic in a gypsy village and met many people who do not have the social insurance for healthcare or have very little health education. November (Thanksgiving)

Hi All, I hope your thanksgivings went great! I know this time of year often begins the busy holiday season. I would say we are also plunging into this busy season. Unfortunately, at the beginning of the month we found out that the lady with the two children who we were hoping was going to start our program in November changed her mind. We are very saddened she made this decision but unfortunately this does happen many times with women coming out of this life. All of the people who have been walking with her for the last two years have been hit hard by this. We are praying and waiting to see what God will do next. An exciting step has been taken this month by one of the ladies in the RGP. She has found housing on her own as she goes into step three of the program. We are still walking with her and it’s so much fun spending time with her but she is learning to live with more independence and this is beautiful. October (EFN Conference)

Hello Family and Friends, This month has been busy but good. It started with me getting over being sick. I was sick for a month which is very abnormal for me. I am so thankful that is over. While on the mend from illness I went with the team from Sofia who are a part of the Daughters of Bulgaria to a conference in Berlin. This was put together by a network actively working to fight human trafficking in Europe. They are called European Freedom Network (EFN). This group has been building and growing for several years now. This network is a great resource for those who are on the ground working in this fight. I found so many people to gain information from, from the experiences they’ve had and from the people they know. Many of the people I met from other European countries work consistently with women from Bulgaria. Many times I was told “most of the women I work with are from Bulgaria. Why do you think that is? And how can I help them and what can I tell them?” Bulgaria is on...

Hi Everyone! "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.“ Matt. 11:28 So sorry for a late post. Wish I had a good sounding reason but the only one would be “life.” This past month has been kind of a settling type of month. Where we get things organized and work on a routine of sorts for the different areas of ministry. I am weekly teaching classes in the RGP program which is fun and a challenge. Also, the english clubs have just started up again and this took a lot of planning from the team here. We are hoping and praying to see this part of the ministry grow in the next few weeks. One of the challenges of this past month, and this is even still going on, is that sickness has been working its way around the team. I have been sick for almost a month now, even though I am much better still dealing with a cough and sinus issues. A few more people on our team have just started to get sick.
