February (More Transitions)
Hi Everyone,
This month has had many transitions. It is still winter, even though it has been warmer than many other years it is still cold here. As I am writing this update it is around 3 degrees F. The last few days we have had snow falling resulting in a beautiful and white snowglobe outside.
During this month our Country Team Lead and his wife have finally made it back to Bulgaria after being in the US for the past 5 and 1/2 months. Also, one of our long term interns has left to move back to the US. One of our team leads went back to the US for his Home Mission Assignment (spending time raising support and visiting those who are already supporting him.) A friend who has been here for a few years working with A21 left to move back to the US for a few months at least. People here in our team moved houses and the ladies in our RGP housing moved to a new house. So, wow! Lots of transitions! Along with all this moving around we have had two groups of people come and visit people in our ministry and our normal programs have been continuing to run as normal.
We have made more progress in planning and preparing for the Trauma Conference which will be at the end of April. We are starting to advertise for it here in full force. We are also letting people know how they can help contribute financial support for the running of the conference (see section at the bottom if interested in helping financially). People already are signing up from all over (in Bulgaria and out) to come. We are excited to be bringing in a few highly trained international speakers who will be teaching those who come to the conference how to not only recognize but appropriately handle traumatic experiences. We are inviting people from many disciplines of life such as: those working with human trafficking victims, social workers, doctors, police officers, pastors, social work students, nurses, etc. The training in the area of trauma recognition, prevention, and management is not taught in the education of these professions here, and we see much need for this training so the direction of those caught in a traumatic life can be changed. My whole team is very excited to be working on this and really looking forward to the difference it will make for years to come.
The ladies in the program here (RGP) are doing well and it has been awesome to see God working in their lives. Just today as I was walking with the newest member to our group she said with a big smile on her face “God is beautiful.” It is so awesome to see how her life is being changed and how she is opening up to God more and more. Another one has settled into a new house and is currently staying busy at her flower shop job (which she loves).

- For our team as they work with these ladies everyday, to have strength and joy and that they will continue to have deep personal experiences with God (abide in His rest).
- For the Trauma Conference; for the team putting it together, the speakers, and those who will attend.
- For my MTW team, to grow in the Lord and for them to be renewed with courage and strength.
- For my next steps, still seeking direction for what God wants.
Conference Info
Daughters of Bulgaria, an anti-trafficking coalition, is hosting an international training in Sofia, Bulgaria from April 23rd through 26th. International speakers and trainers are flying in from around the world to teach on trauma care. We are inviting any and all professionals and individuals that work in the field of trauma: police officers, doctors, nurses, social workers, church workers, NGO's, etc. This will be one of the first trainings in Bulgaria with the theme of trauma and different methods of recovery and care. We are so excited to see what the Lord will do through this event.
